K. V. Rao

Mr. Rao is the chairman of Dolphin Group of Industries with two distinct companies; Dolphin Mart and Dolphin International. Born in a textile business family, Mr. Rao holds a Post Graduate distinction in Nuclear Physics and Industrial Management from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

Mr. Rao is a strong advocate for health and wellness, and plays a critical role as the principal advisor for Weljii’s initiative in transforming lives with better health outcomes matched with improved quality of life.

In recognition of Mr. Rao’s entrepreneurial abilities and export endeavors in the international market, he was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award in 1991 by the erstwhile Union Finance Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh. Further, he was presented Shiromani Award in 1992 for his contributions to national development, integration, enrichment of life and for his outstanding achievements in the chosen field of activity by Mr. V.C. Shukla, the erstwhile Union Minister for Water Resources. He was also awarded the Indira Gandhi Excellence Award in 1994 by former Union Minister Mr. Vasant Sathe.
